A New Chapter

Here’s to a New Chapter
Here’s to focusing
   To putting in the work
   To reaping the benefits
      of effort  and hard work.
Here’s to being the essence of determination
To having drive engrained in my DNA.
Here’s to reaping the fruits of my labour
God has a plan for me.
New Plans… New Purpose
Cheers Friends.
Let the New Chapter Begin.
I hope you enjoyed my little poem. I’m not here to make any promises. I don’t want to say “I’m going to blog everyday”. I’m going to blog when I feel like blogging. This is a new chapter. This is the year of being truly genuine.

*Sorry for the Blurry Pic*

As a child I was never allowed to celebrate Halloween. The underlying elements of “witchcraft” and “Demonic elements” did not sit well with my folks. So my childhood was filled with Harvest Festivals that took place at my local church. Now that I’m in college I’ve taken off the chains.

This Halloween was especially celebratory because one of my closest friends turned 2-1!!! Go Big or Go Home. Check out a few of my costumes below. From Serena Van Der Woodsen to Waldo To a Flapper to ‘Yonce. My costume array was filled with a lot of variety. We went to parties, bars, and a event at the Mansion. All in all it was a great experience. I think costumes are fun when they are clever and witty as opposed to overtly sexual. I’m not judging people for going the more revealing route but it was cold!

Which look was your favorite? Until next year …

Fall Wish List

Isn’t this such a fun post? I feel as though you get a taste of who I am style wise. To be honest, I want everything on this muse board. I was going to put the links to all of the items below but I don’t want to see copy version of myself wandering through the streets. Be inspired my love bugs. The overall tone is comfy, cozy, and polished.
Let me break down the list for you.
Camel Coat
There is so much sophistication and elegance with this one simple coat. The color, coat, and texture are of extreme importance. I have been searching high and low for a decent camel coat that I can afford. I will find THE coat only for it to be too expensive. I found this great camel one in the mens department at Banana Republic. Typically the cut of women’s coats are belted in at the waist and I’m not having that.
I want knee high heeled boots and tims. It the two ends of the spectrum, really girly to urban tomboy. What can I say? I’m a multidimensional lady.  The boots are Sam Edelman Kayla. I’ve been longing for them since last year!
I love cute crewnecks with fun phrases. I’ve had my eye on a couple. The only problem with the cute phrased crewnecks is that they can be hard to repeat often without getting the side eye from those around you. You feel me?
Turtlenecks are so warm. Scoop necks are so cute as well. They are just very functional.

All my big head ladies stand up? I so desperately want a wide brim hat yet they just do not fit my head. I went all over Urban Outfitters trying on hats only for them to not even begin to fit my large head. I really dig the slouchy beanie. It gives off that “I’m not trying to hard” vibe.

Going Out
Going out in the winter is the best and worst thing ever. The best thing because some ladies have finally decided to COVER UP! The hard part is dressing cute and weather appropriate. I want to buy several parts of co-ordinates. I think they are so cute and with my silhouette (or the silhouette I’m working on…) I think I will look nice. I really want this shade of NARS lipstick. After my Diva tube experience an ill fate after On the Run… I’m over it though.

Meal Prep

If you know anything about fitness blogs then you have probably seen pics of meal preps. It seems like everybody tries to eat well. So many of my friends, family, and others constantly give me the best advice when it comes to making meals.

My meal consisted of roasted chicken, steamed spinach, and a chicken broccoli brown rice mix. I thought that my steamed spinach would amount to more but that was not the case. Marginating the chicken took about four hours but cooking the meal was roughly about 45 minutes. Being a single person, I find that when I make these meals I’m forced to eat them for several consecutive days.

I’m really trying to make some lifestyle changes. It hasn’t been take easy but I’m ready to say buh-bye to my chubby tummy! Haha!
Ciao Bella.

My church is currently fasting. Fasting is typically very personal, private thing. Although I thought I would share my fast with my lovebugs. I’m currently fasting breakfast. Instead of eating a bowl of cereal or granola bar, I spend that time praying and reading my bible. It has been very inspirational. It is just a reminder for me to place all my trust in God. The act of discipline has really helped my spiritual relationship. I won’t say it has been easy though, but it has been worth it.
