Fall Wish List

Isn’t this such a fun post? I feel as though you get a taste of who I am style wise. To be honest, I want everything on this muse board. I was going to put the links to all of the items below but I don’t want to see copy version of myself wandering through the streets. Be inspired my love bugs. The overall tone is comfy, cozy, and polished.
Let me break down the list for you.
Camel Coat
There is so much sophistication and elegance with this one simple coat. The color, coat, and texture are of extreme importance. I have been searching high and low for a decent camel coat that I can afford. I will find THE coat only for it to be too expensive. I found this great camel one in the mens department at Banana Republic. Typically the cut of women’s coats are belted in at the waist and I’m not having that.
Boots
I want knee high heeled boots and tims. It the two ends of the spectrum, really girly to urban tomboy. What can I say? I’m a multidimensional lady.  The boots are Sam Edelman Kayla. I’ve been longing for them since last year!
Crewneck
I love cute crewnecks with fun phrases. I’ve had my eye on a couple. The only problem with the cute phrased crewnecks is that they can be hard to repeat often without getting the side eye from those around you. You feel me?
Turtlenecks
Turtlenecks are so warm. Scoop necks are so cute as well. They are just very functional.

Hats
All my big head ladies stand up? I so desperately want a wide brim hat yet they just do not fit my head. I went all over Urban Outfitters trying on hats only for them to not even begin to fit my large head. I really dig the slouchy beanie. It gives off that “I’m not trying to hard” vibe.

Going Out
Going out in the winter is the best and worst thing ever. The best thing because some ladies have finally decided to COVER UP! The hard part is dressing cute and weather appropriate. I want to buy several parts of co-ordinates. I think they are so cute and with my silhouette (or the silhouette I’m working on…) I think I will look nice. I really want this shade of NARS lipstick. After my Diva tube experience an ill fate after On the Run… I’m over it though.

Jet Setter Kors

Couldn’t get Michael Kors if you was… John Idol? So have I told you, Lovebugs, that I long to work in the Luxury Market (High Fashion, expensive cars, etc)? Well, if you don’t know… now you know.

So John Idol, the CEO of Michael Kors, came to my school. He is a Daddy Hoya so it was not a surprise that he came to campus. He was super cool and insightful. I want to be him! He explained the jet-setter aspect of the company. What’s cool about Michael Kors is that the brand is high fashion and commercial so it really hits the market at various angles. Besides Mr. Idol gave us all Michael Kors shades! Swag swag! One day, Lovebugs… This is be me. (By God’s Grace!)

Black Beauty.

Nothing is more sensual than the smooth hues of chocolate skin tones. Ahh, the essence of a black woman. So underrated, so neglected, yet so beautiful. I love fashion. As most of you know or should know. The Miu Miu full length video-ad was absolutely flawless. The piece is entitled The Door by Ava Du. I would love to make something like this or be a part of a project like this. Ava Du does an amazing job directing the piece. Her lighting is spot on, the dresses are to die for, the music is so cohesive. Hands down this is one work of art that encapsulates varies other forms of art (flim, fashion, acting, and music). Here is the piece above.

Elastic reading.

IMG_0580A little reading for a trip I’m going on. I heading back home. When? soon. I will leave things ambiguous. I can’t reveal all my life on the web. But I’m trying something new. I know a “new start” and/or freshness is typically meant for New Years but I’m shaking things up a bit early.

Random: The thing is, I ordered a book off amazon to read during my flight. Unforunately after 20+ days my book has yet to arrive. So I thought I’d head to my local grocery store to scope out the magazine. Typically, the December/January issues are the smallest (with the fewest pages) So instead of getting the usual Glamour or Elle. I got Nylon. I’m pretty stoked to read it too! The cover has Lucy Hale, best known for her work with Pretty Little Liars.

I skimmed through Harper’s Bazaar and the issue just wasn’t doing it for me. Lucky and Maire Clare was an automatic no. And I didn’t see any issues of Vogue. Stretch that. I did. Ann Hathaway was on the cover of Vogue & Glamour… Girl you betta work!

I also grabbed some candy because I like candy. I am my sister’s sister. (In my mind I said… Sista Sista) I’ve never tried this candy before. I guess this is a whole, new me! So Adventurous. I guess I could change my name to adventurousabby…. Nah. I’ll stick to being soulful.

By the end of next year I want to have style. My own style. This picture above is a display window set that I saw today on M street. The two outer mannequins are workin’ it . I don’t know what’s up with the middle chick. The fur, dress, sash are just not working for me.

I don’t want to be someone that “talks about it but’s not about it”. That made more sense in my head then it did aloud. But I want to include more fashion and beauty elements to my blog. At times my blog just seems like a public agenda, recap, or diary. I want to people to see/ read my blog and know how I am.

So changes are coming soon. I’m really impress with those around me upgrading their style game. I even want to shout out my sister who has started dressing with the polish and sophistication of those her age. I always end up buying pieces that I envision with greatness yet never end up wearing them. What’s wrong with me?

I wil fix this very soon. Fashion post here I come.

(Let’s talk about the mannequins just once more. The first look is really cute because its mono-colorblocking. A light shade of gray paired with a darker shade of gray. In addition the pants look like different leather-like texture and I’m really into that at the moment. You could argue that the mannequin is wearing gray and silver but I still love the look. The gold chain necklace makes such a bold statement with the muted background colors. I could so see myself wearing something like this. The last look is really cute for  night out during the winter season. I like how the outfit doesn’t include any black. Granted, I’ve learned the benefits of black I love the sleekness of the look. And the blazer doesn’t have any collars which I don’t necessarily like. Because its one of those things that looks good on a mannequin yet doesn’t look good on a person.  I could talk fashion/style for a while. )
